Dia duit,
Since I was a child I was always ridiculously curious about other people's views and experiences of life. I loved questioning what's right or wrong, and embracing what I felt was simply nice. What I fundamentally learnt is that we can strive to work on ourselves, but without other people who actually mirror our fears, doubts, joys and hopes we will drift on the surface of self-exploration.
Here you are, reading a newsletter from a socks brand wondering why is yer wan now talking about awareness, and mindfulness when you'd rather look at the behind the scenes of the production process. Well, that's to come shortly too.
However, I feel an internal drive to use our platform, which this business has become, not only to do work, but also to work toward values that truly matter in this world.
For the last few years I've been playing a card game called Where Should We Begin? A game of stories. with friends and family, and I experienced a profound connection in moments of wildest parties or quiet mornings. The game, created by psychotherapist Esther Perel, guides a conversation between people, encouraging meaningful, open connection and a form of relief. I'll put it this way: after a session, you feel you can skip your therapy this week. And you feel, richer, happier, with a strong sense of belonging.
We are inviting people to sit together, and play the game. Put the phones away, and go for a pure, lovely human connection. We have collaborated with The Soul Garden at Massimo, Galway for this event, and will moderate the night and ensure the most supportive and loving atmosphere for all. As this is the first and a free event, we really hope that everyone who signs up will arrive. I would like to emphasise that this is a bilingual event, and Irish speakers are encouraged to join.
Hoping to see you there.
