This Black Friday stay where your feet are
The surroundings are calling for action, inviting with huge discounts and offers. As much as consumers can often benefit and save cash, the build up, excitement and narrative ends with purchases that were never intended, and are unnecessary. A kick into dopamine levels definitely. But also into wallets. The majority of products bought during Black Friday are electronics, toys, clothing, and beauty products.
Things considered must-have-new-repeatedly these days. Lucky to be living in the 21st century, we definitely have more than plenty of the above already.
This is not about being dramatic, it’s about staying where our feet are for a moment. Grounded in what we and our environment really needs, and how it may actually genuinely differ from what we are told we should have.
So, we are not discouraging you to enjoy the fun that shopping can give, but we are calling for conscious purchases that actually give so much more satisfaction and pride.
One good thing that came out of the Black Friday is Green Friday.
Whatever we are looking for most likely has its origin here, in Ireland. With legally employed people, sustainable approach, dedication and the unique Irish overlayer of grá. Most of these wonderful businesses join the Green Friday movement to encourage shopping locally.
It really is true that by supporting a small business you can witness a change for the better, with your own eyes.
