Creativity is intelligence having fun as Einstein said once.
This year socks!
But there are businesses that go far and beyond, to survive.
They change: re-imagine, they adapt: re-invent. They innovate.
We are proud to say that among those businesses, are our Friends.
Companies with whom we have developed a great relationship, spending time designing and manufacturing custom socks for their business.
Here’s a story of one of them...
[ we plan to share more inspiring interviews like this one, right here on our blog, stay tuned ]
Joanna & Alex:
Howya Ladies! We’re happy to feature your Covid innovation story on our Irish Socksciety Blog. Tell us a few words about yourself and your amazing business.
Sheena & Gosia:
Thank you so much for reaching out to us and hosting a wee space on Irish Socksciety site for us.
We are Sheena and Gosia of Galway Food Tours. Sure, we’re obsessed (in a good way) with Ireland's food and drink scene. That is why we do what we do.
Joanna & Alex:
That’s great and really interesting! Give us some more details on your business.
You surely have become a part of Galway City landscape. Before covid, once in town, it was impossible to miss a group of happy people led by one of you talking, cheering and pointing at places with a huge excitement and joy!
Sheena & Gosia:
We love showcasing artisan producers, cheese makers, creative beer projects, artisan chocolatiers, from traditional family run businesses to young entrepreneurs with devotion and commitment, to showcase the best of Irish produce.
We take people on Food Tours around Galway, where they can enjoy tastings and bites from various purveyors, while learning about their history and food philosophy. It definitely is an experience that’s impossible to arrange independently.
Joanna & Alex:
We’re really glad that we got to know you. You are so bright and colourful and bring so much to the city of Tribes! When you got in touch asking about the customised socks for your company, we just knew we would love collaborating with you. And so it was just great fun!
Sheena & Gosia:
We are always looking to collaborate with like minded folks who are creative and passionate about their work. This is why we had such a great time working with you to create the Galway Food Tours custom socks. Together we came up with the idea of the retro vibe of a ‘pac man’ eating his way around the streets of Galway. People love these cool socks, their fun nature and how they reflect what we are about at Galway Food Tours - eating and drinking around the city 7 days a week.
Joanna & Alex:
That’s purely amazing, these are one of our favourite socks too!
Now back to the reality of 2020. Tell us how your business has been impacted by Coronavirus and how you took a turn and came up with something absolutely genius.
Sheena & Gosia:
As we know the Covid-19 impacted all tourism related businesses. Those who are left are really looking forward to welcoming customers and visitors are really striving for some new, but safe experiences.
One of our new creations we are super proud of, is our own Self Guided Food Tour Pocket Book.
The book allows you to tour and experience the city on your own terms whenever suits you. There is a selection of wonderful discounts and vouchers to avail of around the city. This keepsake pocket book brings together over 40 local businesses, revealing what we particularly love about Galway, its people and their great places to eat, drink superb wines and creamy pints; attend small, independent cultural events and share the simple pleasures in life.
This book is also a continuous connection to, and support of our wonderful Galway community.
Joanna & Alex:
This is pure Class! Having one of your Pocket Books in hand here, we are sure, this will be a great success in the years to come. We wish you the best of luck with the new project, and see you soon on the streets of Galway. Wearing your funky socks, obviously.
