Enjoy the first story in the series, from Gabi:
...
I can’t remember how many years I’ve been ordering super great socks from Irish Socksciety. In any case, it’s been many years. I am such a big fan that I have promised myself to order every pair of socks that comes out. And I think I have done that.
I am a huge fan of Ireland and have visited the Emerald Isle several times. I love the vastness, the rugged nature and the friendly people. I have always felt welcome.
When I land at Dublin airport, I feel at home. Ireland is the country where my heart and soul is at home.
Back in Switzerland I kept searching the internet for typically Irish things. Things that really remind me of this country without being kitschy. That’s how I came across your website and your socks fascinated me from the start. Why? Because your socks are not only of high quality but also because they have something to tell and are full of typical Irish humour.
One learns something specific about Ireland with each pair. I remember one of my first pair of socks was «steaks, spuds & pull like a dog». At first I didn’t understand that saying. So I looked it up and learned that it was about the famous brothers Gary and Paul O’ Donovan.
These two have won Ireland's first medal of the Rio games and the country’s first rowing medal ever. And they put their success down to «spuds and steaks» and «pull like a dog».
So with each pair of socks I learned something about Ireland, its humour, ist people and its curiosities.
And for me, almost more important than the super great socks, are you two wonderful ladies behind this brand. You have always been so friendly and helpful and I have always appreciated the personalised card that came with my parcel.
You did and do a great job. No wonder Irish Socksciety has become so big and so well known. You have all my respect and I hope, that one day I will really get to meet you in person. Until then, I will continue to order socks until my wardrobe bursts.
Big, big, big hug and keep up the good work.
Gabi
